The Verona Rescue Squad recently received a grant from Investors Foundation to purchase 6 Automatic External Defibrillators (AED\u2019s)<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Verona Rescue Squad recently received a $4,800 grant from Investors Foundation at Investors Bank, in Verona. The grant will help further the Verona Rescue Squad\u2019s mission of providing emergency medical services free of charge to those who require our services. Verona Rescue Squad Chief Ricky Tempesta stated \u201dthis grant will allow us to replace four aging AED\u2019s as well as outfitting our bicycle team with two  AED\u2019s. In the event of a cardiac arrest it is important to have an AED readily available to provide early defibrillation to the victim\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Verona Rescue Squad is a total volunteer organization that provides emergency medical services to the Township of Verona and surrounding communities when requested to provide mutual aid. The organization is staffed by over 120 volunteers and responded to over 1700 calls for assistance in 2019. The squad never charges for their services and survives on donations.  Grants such as the one from the Investors Foundation allow us to purchase equipment that we may not be able to afford in our yearly budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
